The Tiled Space team have recently completed our largest project yet for a newly built sports stadium.
Working to an artist’s specific design brief, the entire mural is made up of 8000 tiles and covers 320 square metres. We used vitrified tiles to make sure the finished mural is weather proof as well as being UV resistant so that the colours retain their sharpness and vivid appearance.
Such a large scale project came with plenty of its own challenges. However, the biggest challenge for us was guaranteeing that the mural was delivered to the site safely and undamaged, This prompted us to think about how we currently packaged the tiles and after some creative thinking we managed to source some specially designed polystyrene packaging with separate slots for individual tiles, which has proved to be a great success and which will now be used for all our future murals no matter how large or small.
Ensuring the mural is delivered safely with no broken tiles needing replacement, prevents delays with the installation and means our customers are happy with us and we are happy delivering a project on time, within budget but more importantly to our exacting standards.Packaging
